Te Koutu Sports Exchange

During term 2, we were honored to welcome Te Kura Kaupapa Māori O Te Koutu for a sports exchange. This highly anticipated event is a rare occurrence for both our school and Te Koutu, fostering a positive relationship and offering our students the chance to form connections and create lasting memories through sports and Māori culture.

Throughout the day, we engaged in Netball, Volleyball, Chess, Ki-O-Rahi, and each school concluded with a Kapa Haka performance. The spirit of the day was truly remarkable, providing all students involved with the opportunity to have fun in a Māori cultural setting. Additionally, we were privileged to present them with a meaningful gift during the powhiri, as they will be hosting the next sports/cultural exchange.

We aim to continue this tradition annually, with the goal of expanding and enhancing each exchange.
